First Aid - Athabasca

There are two ways to achieve your certification:
Option 1: Recertification
(For those that have a current First Aid Certification)
Step One: Confirm Eligibility
Submit a copy of your current first aid certificate to admin@valion.ca. We need to ensure that it is a Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C with AED level of certification and will not have expired by the time of the scheduled recertification course. Please call our office at (780) 675-1111 should you have a different level of certification (i.e. Emergency First Aid – Level A) for more information.
Step Two: Register Online
Click the blue registration button above to secure your spot in this in-class session.
Step Three: Attend Class
Attend the one day in-class course. Students must perform all practical skills and achieve the minimum passing grade requirement (75%) on the written theory exam.
Option 2: Blended Course
(For those that do not have a current First Aid Certification)
The blended model includes online learning modules (6.5-hours) and a one day in-class practical component (6.5-hours).
Step One: Register Online
Click the blue registration button above to secure your spot in this in-class session.
Step Two: Complete Online Portion
Successfully complete the online learning modules. We highly recommend completing these at least 48 hours prior to the in-class portion. The online portion of the training is available for $25 (paid to St. John Ambulance) and can be paid online directly by the student or paid for by the employer. These can be accessed through the St. John Ambulance website: ab.stjohntraining.ca. (Make sure you use this link)
This link will navigate you to the St. John Ambulance Website. Under "Online Awareness Courses" (right column) be sure to select: "Standard First Aid (CSA Intermediate) – Level C CPR".
Step Three: Email Completion Badge
When finished the online portion, you will receive a completion badge and certification number. You will need to email a copy to admin@valion.ca prior to attending your one-day in-class session. Please include the words “Blended First Aid” and your name in the subject line.
This information is required to be
admitted into the classroom.
Step Four: Attend class
Attend the one day in-class course. Athabasca public courses are held at our Training Center, 4012 53 St. and start at 8:30 a.m. Students must perform all practical skills and achieve the minimum passing grade requirement (75%) on the written theory exam. The exam includes all sections covered online and in-class.
